Books I'm Reading
What if Jesus Was Never Born, Dr. James Kennedy
The Shorter Catechism Volume 1
The Flames of Rome
From Jerusalem to Irian Jaya-- A Biographical History of the Christian Missions
2 Chronicles
Worship Warriors
That is just some of the books I'm reading this summer. Many of them are for school this fall, but a couple are just for the fun of it. I also heard there was a new book by the Netta Jackson, the author of The Yada Yada Prayer Group. I love all of her books, so I'm excited to read it.
What are you reading this summer?

What Would You Ask For?
If you could have anything that you wanted, what would it be?
Money, love, fame, a new car, a new house, the latest gadgets. Think about it a minute, really. I'll wait.
Do you have something in mind?
Now, I want to tell you a story.
There was a King and God appeared to him and said, "Ask for whatever you want me to give you."
Solomon answered God, " You have shown great kindness to David, my father and have made me king in him place. Now, Lord God, let your promise to my father David be confirmed, for you have made me king over a people who are as numerous as the dust of the earth. Give me wisdom and knowledge, that I may lead this people, for who is able to govern this great people of yours?"
Wow!!! Solomon could of had anything, but he asked for wisdom to lead Gods people!! That says a lot about the man. It says that he knew he was in a position appointed by God. He knew that God put him there and wanted to do what he could to lead the people. Was he relying on books or advice from other people? No. He wanted to hear from the Lord!!
Many times we want the easy road, we want God to give us things but we don't want to count the cost. Leadership is hard work. People are finicky and many times hard to please. However, God is able. When we seek His face and want to do things His way, then Gods provision is there for us. There is no lack.
After Solomon asked for wisdom, God gave him all the wealth he could ever imagine. When God gives us things, we are to go use them for His glory not our own. We should not get so caught up with the things of this world that the things of God seem shallow in comparison.

Womans Day Book-- June 10th
Outside my window… I see lots of trees and semi blue skies with light clouds floating by.
I am thinking… about how time flies by.
I am thankful for… the fact that we always have just enough.
From the learning rooms… finish up Biology, math with Duncan, and I'm learning to be more patient. ;o)
From the kitchen… made a pork roast tonight with potatoes. However, the majority of baking has been done by dd who seems to be on a role.
I am wearing… jeans, t-shirt, hoodie, comfy socks, and sneakers.
I am creating… music.
I am going… to get ready for bed soon.
I am reading… 1 Chronicles and Worship Warriors
I am hearing… hubby talk to ds.
A few plans for the rest of the week...school, clean, get ready for Linsays visit, and order the kids around. LOL

Psalm 61
" Hear my cry, O God:
listen to my prayer.
From the ends of the earth I call to you,
I call as my heart grows faint;
lead me to the rock that is higher then I.
For you have been my refuge,
a strong tower against the foe.
I long to dwell in your tent forever
and take refuge in the shelter of your wings.
For you, God, have heard my vows;
you have given me the heritage of
those who fear your name.
Increase the days of the king's life,
his years for many generations.
May he be enthroned in God's presence
forever;
appoint your love and faithfulness to protect him.
Then I will ever sing in praise of your name
and fulfill my vows day after day."
